Every summer Creation Fest’s main gathering happens at the Royal Cornwall showground in Wadebridge, catering to nearly 2000 campers and up to 5000 day visitors making it one of the country’s largest free to attend festivals. A weekend of programming spread across 7 venues ranging from keynote speakers to 6 piece worship bands, singer songwriters to rap artists. At Creation Fest every part of the Christian music spectrum is represented.

“Creation Fest exists to celebrate the good news of a God who loves us through festivals, events and gatherings designed to creatively communicate the Christian faith and inspire others to do the same.”

At TruCru we have provided a full production package of Sound, Lighting, Video, Staging, Rigging, Drape, and Crew for the entire event since 2020. Across all venues we provided:

9 Sound Consoles
88 Speakers
168 Lights
110 8×4 Stage decks
292m of truss
4742m of cable

For the main venue we opted for our staging division, Tru Stage, flagship structure the Prolyte MPT 12m x 10m stage roof with PA wings and both stage right and stage left side sheds. The stage roof offered the loading capacity to fit the level of rig that we had hoped to achieve in the concept and planning stage of the project, while providing a natural boost to the production value in just the aesthetic of the stage roof alone.

For audio on the main stage we deployed our compact line array system, Ohm Vela, vela is a dual 8” line array with a lot of punch for such a small box weighing only 20kg This allowed us to easily deploy the two hangs of 8 speakers on the front truss of the mother grid, which was important because the PA wings were in use for the LED Wall. This paired extremely well with a delayed arc subwoofer array of 10 subs in 5 stacks of 2. In terms of control package we deployed Allen and Heath D-live systems on both FOH and Monitor duties, which was a popular decision with all the visiting guest engineers. For RF we deployed Sennheiser G3 radio mics and Sennheiser 2000 series IEM systems allowing for quick and easy RF coordination.

The main stage lighting package needed to provide the level of excellence that Creation Fest seek in all they produce. With such an array of acts coming through mainstage over the weekend, both during the day and in the evening, the rig needed to be versatile and bright. The Robe Pointe was an obvious choice, as a moving beam, spot, wash fixture, the Pointe’s enabled us to create punchy engaging effects both on stage, and in the audience, which were visible both day and night. Our primary stage colour wash came from an array of Robe Spiiders. With their advanced colour mixing, and the bonus of the additional flower effect, these fixtures enabled us to not only produce beautiful pastel colours which worked harmoniously alongside the media content, but also create large punchy beams, and animated effects. 2 Unique 2.1 haze machines did an amazing job at creating a constant base haze level, which despite the sites windy location enabled a dynamic light show throughout the day. At control of the rig was an Avolites Pearl Expert Pro. With its mass of fader real estate, and ability to run the latest version of Titan, this was the perfect desk for what was a heavily busked event.

On video duty we had two 1.5m x 2.5m video walls flanking each side of the stage hung off the PA wings for both IMAG (image magnification) and content displays. These screens were controlled via Blackmagic Design Atem switchers which also fed both the livestream and overflow venue relay screens. We had 2x Datavideo PTZ’s setup at FOH for IMAG capturing sermon speakers and the rest of the action happening on stage.

For the sub venues we provided Sound, lighting and video for the other 6 venues ranging in size from 100 – 1000. Across the site we went for Allen and Heath consoles with SQ, ILive, QU and Mixwizard consoles in all the other venues. For video displays we supplied a range of solutions from 15,000lumen projectors down to 70” and 50” screens and everything in between.

Finally we supplied all the crew for the set-up and de-rig as well as FOH engineers, Monitor Engineers and Lighting operators in split shifts for the very busy main stage. We also supplied on-site support of the site wide tech for the duration of the event.
